Rasul
A spa treatment that originated in Asia as a ceremony for body care.
It involves a seaweed soap shower, medicinal muds, and a herbal steam
bath.
Reflexology
An ancient Chinese technique that uses massage of specific pressure points
on the feet, hands, and ears to encourage energy flow. This massage
treatment helps to relive stress and release energy, and is recommended
for recurring ailments such as asthma, headaches, and migraines.
Repaichage Massage/Facial
A massage and skin treatment that can be applied just to the face or
to the entire body. This treatment uses a combination of herbal, seaweed
and clay or mud masques to deep clean and moisturize.
Resort/Hotel Spa
A facility that offers spa services, as well as fitness and wellness
elements, in addition to accommodations and spa cuisine.
Rolfing
A technique of body work developed by Ida Rolf that helps to improve
balance and flexibility through the therapist's manipulation of the
client's muscles and joints. It is believed that this treatment improves
energy flow in the body and relieves stress. This technique employs
deep muscle and tissue massage, which may not be comfortable for every
client.
Roman Bath
A type of bath that originally consisted of hot, warm, and cold pools,
the term now usually applies to a hot tub or Jacuzzi with benches that
can accommodate one or more people.
